Summer Recipes
Summer is the most yang of all the seasons; it is a time
of expansion, creativity, growth, and outward activities.
To be in harmony with the environment of summer, play and
travel more frequently, awaken earlier in the morning and
go to bed a little later in the evening. Use as many brightly
colored fruits and vegetables as possible in your cooking,
taking advantage of the great variety of foods available
at your local farmer’s market. Reserve the coolest
of foods, such as raw sprouts, cucumber, raw tofu, and
melons, for only the hottest days of summer.
