Spring Recipes
Spring is a time of new beginnings and rising energy.
Corresponding to the liver and gallbladder energies, spring
is when we eat less to cleanse the body of the fatty foods
we have eaten over the winter. The diet of this season
should be light and fresh, with yang type foods that accentuate
the ascending and expansive quality of spring. Young plants,
fresh greens, sprouts, and wheat or cereal grasses help
cleanse the liver, while young beets, carrots and other
sweet starchy vegetables help off set their bitterness.
